The Medical Isotope and Cyclotron Facility

The Medical Isotope and Cyclotron Facility (MICF) was opened in 2013. The facility is operated by the University of Alberta in close consultation with Alberta Health Services (AHS), the Government of Alberta, Natural Resources Canada and Advanced Cyclotron Systems.The MICF harbors state of the art radiochemistry facilities for Research & Development, an integrated radiopharmacy for the production and manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals and a 24 MeV cyclotron for radionuclide production. The MICF is located at University of Alberta’s south campus.
